Why does my son/daughter need a tutor?
There are many reasons why a student may require a private tutor.
Private tuition offers a totally different learning approach from that received at school. A private tutor can not only help to consolidate knowledge but also provide guidance and support through every stage of a student’s academic career. This can be an essential component in achieving success and building confidence both academically and personally. Combining effective learning strategies with thorough exam preparation can ensure the optimum chances of success. Tutors can offer continual support and advice for students over a long period or students can receive ad hoc ‘crammer’ style lessons just prior to exams.

Are all tutor house tutors CRB registered?
Yes. All tutors are registered with the Criminal Records Bureau.

How does tutor house select their tutors?
Tutors are selected following a thorough face-to-face interview. As a minimum, all tutors are educated to degree level and have teaching experience.

How much does tuition cost?
Tuition costs between £45 and £55 per hour, dependant on the academic level. There are packages available for longer periods, including residential and holiday tuition.

Is there a registration fee?
Unlike most other tutoring companies tutor house does not require a registration fee.

Will tutor house tutors travel to us?
Tutors usually travel to the student’s home. However, other informal arrangements can be agreed between the tutor and tutee. There is no charge passed on to the client for travel expenses unless the tutor is required to travel outside London.

What if my son/daughter does not like the tutor?
This is not a problem and we will find you another tutor at no extra cost or hassle.

How can I give tutor house feedback about my tutor?
All clients are given a feedback form in which we ask you to provide feedback on your tutor and other aspects of our services.  This is, of course, entirely optional.
